On April 2nd, Washington Governor Jay Inslee extended his “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order until May 4th. With this announcement, the state has closed non-essential businesses and banned large gatherings and social events. At this time, the Palouse Roots Country Music Festival has been postponed to September 11, 2020. The festival will still be held in Pullman, WA.
For those who have already registered and would still like to attend in September, there is no need to register again. For those who have registered and cannot attend, you can pass on your ticket to a substitute participant, or you can call our number and receive a full refund. Until we can celebrate our favorite country hits together, Palouse Roots is partnering with iHeartRadio to bring our audience a virtual, live concert on May 16th. Country stars including Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini, Old Dominion, Hunter Hayes and Maddie and Tae will be performing live from their homes. Using Twitter, send in pictures of you and your family with the hashtag, #LivingRoomRhythms and we will feature you on the livestream! We encourage you to follow our social media platforms and blog to stay updated as changes are made daily. We will be sharing news and insights regarding the virtual concert on May 16th and the festival in September. Despite these changes, we are still planning to kick off the summer with country rhythms from the comfort of our homes! Due to the circumstances of COVID19, Palouse Roots will be postponing its annual summer music festival until late September. In light of this, iHeartRadio will host a live broadcast of the Palouse Roots Living Room Concert Series on Saturday, May 16th.
Headliners such as Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini, Old Dominion, Carrie Underwood and more are scheduled to perform. The artists have all embraced online concerts as an opportunity reach out to their fans. Our hope is that these artists will perform live as scheduled in September. Updates about the postponed concert will be provided weekly on our social media channels. The concert will be live streamed on iHeartRadio's YouTube channel at 7 PM (PT), on May 16th. The concert is free and can be enjoyed by all ages of country music fans! We are excited to share some musical joy during these uncertain times! Along with musical performances, the virtual concert will also highlight stories of hope and goodwill across the country as we fight this virus. Whether it’s with family or a furry friend, you will experience top county hits in the comfort of your home! Do you love country music? Are you part of Greek Life at WSU? If so this competition is for you! Palouse Roots music festival invites WSU Greek Life members to enter in a competition to win free VIP tickets for their entire sorority or fraternity house. The way to enter your house into the competition is to tweet why you love country music @palouseroots and hash tag your house letters and followed by Palouse roots (ex: #KKGpalouseroots). The house with the most tweets by May 1st will be the winner. VIP tickets include backstage passes, access to all days of the festival and free snacks and beverages. Palouse Roots will provide students many opportunities to grow their social media platform and connections. There will be content opportunities for students to grow their connections by taking photos or videos at the event.
